Action time for Neetu

Actress Neetu Chandra, who is kicked about having performed some daredevil stunts in her forthcoming Jayam Ravi-starrer, recently received 2nd Dan Black Belt from Grandmaster Jimmy R Jagtiani.

She says, “Grandmaster Jimmy is popularly known as the Father Of Taekwondo in India, and I’m glad I was honoured by him. I was told that I’m the first Indian actress, even woman, to receive the award. I’ve learnt this form of martial art, and have even represented India in Taekwondo championship. It’s a shame I haven’t been able to continue practicing this art form.”

However, Neetu says she’s glad to have been able to put to use the skills in her movies. She adds, “In Aadhi Bhagavan, I’ve performed some kick-ass stunts. In fact, I’m hoping to tie up with a martial arts academy in Tamil Nadu to spread awareness about self-defence among women here.”

Meanwhile, the girl has been offered a couple of projects in Kollywood now, and she says she will sign one of them as soon as her other film releases.
