Here’s yet another name from the north who is eyeing south Indian films. Anjali Patil, who has done independent cinema like Delhi in a Day, is awaiting the release of her Telugu-Malayalam bilingual.
“Acting came to me by chance. I happened to be at an audition for an indie film, when I was studying drama direction. And then, as the saying goes, the rest is history,” says Anjali.
The actress, whose Sri Lankan film might open the Toronto International Film Festival, is also considering a few Tamil film offers that have come her way. “One of them particularly is exciting and it again is a festival film. Though, there’s twice the responsibility on an actor when we do a film in a language we don’t know,” she says.
