Actress Bhanu, who debuted in Kollywood with Hari’s Thamirabharani opposite Vishal, will soon be seen in Pudhumugangal Thevai. Directed by debutant Maneesh Babbu, the film stars Sivaji Dev (son of Ramkumar and grandson of Sivaji Ganesan) in the lead.
Maneesh says, “The film is an out-and-out comedy and is about three people who dream of making it big in the film industry. Sivaji, an assistant director, wants to direct a film. And penniless Rajesh, who works in a hotel, dreams of becoming a famous producer. What happens when the two, along with a friend, start making a movie? This is the concept of the film.”
Talking about Bhanu’s character, Maneesh says, “She plays an established actress who has been roped in by Sivaji in his film. Her character struggles a lot as she has to adapt herself to work with amateurs. She has done a great job in the film.”
Twin Tunes, Arun and Anoop, have composed four songs for the film. Maneesh adds, “Adichha Ghilli… from the album has already become a rage among the audience. It is a local party song, and features in the film when Sivaji and Rajesh finally sign on to make a film with Bhanu.”
