After Amy Jackson made her way up in K’town, it looks like there is a demand for foreign heroines. The latest to join the list is top British model/actress Anara Atanes, who’s been cast in the Tamil film Kaadhale Ennai Kaadhali.
The movie features actor Santhosh as the protagonist, and is directed by the London-based Tamil actor Shan debuting as a filmmaker.
“It’s a story of an Indian boy portrayed by Santhosh, who is settled in London. He falls for a British girl played by Anara, and the struggle they undergo to be united in wedlock, forms the crux. So, I needed a foreign girl for the female lead and we chose Anara. It was her natural long, black tresses that appealed to me when I first met her,” explains Shan.
The best part, according to Shan, is that Anara wrote down her lines in English, and dubbed her own voice in Tamil.
The entire story takes place in London, and Roy from Hollywood, debuts as the villain. Manorama, Nizhalgal Ravi, Mayilsamy and Chaams form the supporting cast. The movie will hit cinema halls by August end.
