The entire Bollywood is on celebration of the most anticipated film ‘Raanjhanaa’ that is scheduled for release on June 21, 2013. The film is directed by Anand L Rai and is produced by Eros International. The producers have decided to release the film simultaneously in Tamil as ‘Ambikapathy’ that will have Bollywood actor Abhay Deol in another lead role as well.
Excited about her foray into Tamil film industry, Sonam Kapoor says, “Versatile South actresses like Jayapradha, Hema Malini, Waheeda Rehman, Vayjantimala and Sridevi have been my inspiration and was vividly inspired from their spellbinding performance. It’s noteworthy that my dad Anil Kapoor made his debut in films through Manirathnam’s Kannada movie ‘Pallavi Anu Pallavi’. Well, I am just frozen in invigorations and the reason? A Tamil film with Dhanush and AR Rahman’s musical score. What else can I ask more for?”
The dialogues in Tamil are written by John Mahendran, who recently had his lines penned for ‘Settai’. It is worth mentioning that Anand L Rai’s debut film ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ starred Madhavan in lead role and was a sensational hit. Anand says that he always look up Manirathnam, Shankar, Bala and many more as his sole inspiration and doesn’t miss to add that anyone watching the film will closely relate themselves to ‘Ambikapathy’.
Dhanush thanks all his Tamil fans for being so supportive as he utters, ‘Tamil audiences have lived through the characters that I was portrayed in all movies. They have cried and laughed together with me. I done my best as a performer in ‘Ambikapathy’ and am awaiting the best results.’
