Elvin Bosser, who had his tutelage under VZ Durai and Subramanya Shiva, turns independent with Edho Seithai Ennai.
A romantic story with a twist, ESE has Shakthi as the lead protagonist, in the role of a lovable chocolate boy.
Liya, who played one of Jayam Ravi’s heroines in Peraanmai, plays opposite him.
Talking about the film, Elvin says, “Shakthi has given a wonderful performance. The movie will give him a very big break.
While the first half is cool romance and light-hearted comedy, there is an unexpected action twist post-interval.
The entire film belongs to Shakthi.” There are four villains in the film including Anand Babu (sporting a bald pate), Anand, Ilavarasan and John Vijay.
The film has two different stories that culminate in a climax, says the director. “I have attempted a novel screenplay,” he reveals.
It is produced by Ezhilarasan, who is also behind the camera. Apparently, Ezhil and Elvin have been friends for years — ever since the time both were assisting other filmmakers.
When Elvin approached him for cinematography, it seems that Ezhil was so impressed with the subject that he wanted to produce the movie. For the first time, a woman editor, Muthulakshmi, has been roped in.
Ganesh Kumar, who won awards for his tracks in the Hollywood film 9 Lives of Mara, debuts in Tamil with ESE. The film is set to release on August 17.
