Now the actor has gone on a crash diet and reduced five kilos and is looking lean and fit. The buzz is that he is playing a super cool intelligent investigative cop look for his new untitled Bhoopathy Pandian film.

Vikram was the cynosure of all cameramen and guests who turned up for actor Munna’s wedding reception last Saturday. When quizzed about his new look, the actor said: “I can’t reveal much about my new look other than saying it for the role that I’m doing in Bhoopathy Pandian’s film produced by Mohan Natarajan.”

The buzz is that the cop role that he is playing, uses his brains more than brawn to solve murder cases. In the film, he does not wear police uniform and has more of an intelligent investigative officer’s look. Ileana is his heroine and Devi Sri Prasad, the music director.

The shoot of the film will start in Chennai from March 20, and the first schedule will be for 40 days.

For this world tour A R Rahman will be collaborating with choreographer-director Amy Tinkham, who has created stage shows for the likes of Paul McCartney, Madonna, Britney Spears, Dixie Chicks, Motley Crue, etc. The concerts are said to include spectacular special effects and global cast of dancers and musicians inspired by his native India. It is termed as a “virtual journey through beauty, culture, and spirituality”.

The concerts will include songs from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ as well as the Indian films ‘Lagaan’, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, ‘Dil Se’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Roja’ and others.

Director Shankar’s mega budget science-fiction movie Endhiran featuring Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai is nearing completion and it will be release within this year. Director Shankar  yesterday on his blog has written the following

An enviable couple once, Selvaraghavan and Sonia Agarwal fell in love on the sets of the film ‘Kadhal Kondein’. They got married in December 2006. But the happiness lasted only for two years and they filed for divorce with mutual consent in August 2009.

After filing for divorce Sonia Agarwal returned to acting with the television drama ‘Naanal’ on Kalaignar TV. She has also reportedly signed a Malayalam film for the first time. Selvaraghavan after the misfortune of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ is waiting to strike back with vengeance; He is immersed with his next film starring Vikram and Swathi of ‘Subramaniapuram’ fame.

“The shoot of the film, produced by S S Chakravarthy of NIC Arts, will start by the end of this month. It is not just a love story, but a subject with patriotism in its backdrop,” add sources.

To be directed by Simbu himself, the film would have the music score of Yuvan Shankar Raja, who worked earlier with the actor for ‘Manmadhan’ and ‘Vallavan’. Chakravarthy had earlier produced ‘Kaalai’.

This film is to be released on 26th of this month. After this I am acting in a film titled Pukki directed by Raasu Madhuravan. In between I am also directing a film titled Kanchana.This film is the Part 2 of Muni.

This will be more thrilling and scary than the Part 1. Anushka is the heroine of this film. After Mass, Style, Don and Muni, I am directing this fifth film. This film is being made in Tamil and Telugu languages. The shooting of this film will commence in the first week of April.”

Endhiran, is a mega budget movie which will cost around Rs 150 crore for its makers. The best of the technical team like Oscar winning sound recordist Resul Pookutty, has joined the project.

Says Resul: “Endhiran is going to be a very challenging job, but I’m sure that I will be able to deliver a state of art product with the backing of Sun, Rajinikanth and Shankar.
