The big release of the week is Jayam Ravi’s Ameerin Aadhi Bhagavan, which is opening in over 40 screens in Chennai city and suburbs. The other Tamil releases are Haridas, Paati and Ariyathavan Puriyathavan.
The big English release of the week is the fifth instalment of the popular Die Hard franchise. Bruce Willis as John McClane has a huge following in Tamil Nadu. The new instalment A Good Day To Die Hard is releasing in English and Tamil and is sure to please the action fans.
The Hindi releases are the the critically raved about Kai Po Che and the mass actioner Zila Ghaziabad. The talked about Malayalam film Celluloid is also releasing this week.
It is the big Oscar weekend at the movies. The prestigious 85th Academy Awards are scheduled to be held on February 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre. So there is a Craze for Oscar movies in Chennai with Silver Linings Playbook with 8 Oscar nominations releasing this week in seven screens.
