‘I am eagerly waiting for Sultan’
Looks like tinsel town has taken to supporting local sports in a big way! After Karthi was the chief guest at a district level Kabbadi tournament, here is Vijayalakshmi of Chennai-28 fame, who took the field to play the traditional sport.
The actress was spotted at the state level Kabbadi tournament, which was organised for a reality show Kalakkal Kabbadi by a satellite channel.
Though the bubbly actress was initially evasive about her stint with Superstar Rajinikanth in Sultan The Warrior, she finally opened up.
“Even to stand next to Rajini sir is a boon for me. I consider it the chance of a lifetime to share screen space with Superstar.
The makers said they would call me, and I am eagerly awaiting their call,” she tells us optimistically. On Vana Yuddham, where she plays the slain brigand Veerappan’s wife Muthulakshmi, she says, “I was excited when director Ramesh approached me for the role.
He gave me a lot of references for my character and I just followed them. It has turned out well.” She also shook a leg for the Kabbadi theme song along with the participants.
