‘Paasamalar’ re-releasing in digital format
Enthused by the phenomenal success of the technologically upgraded Sivaji Ganesan’s ‘Karnan’, which has completed 100 days, All-India Sivaji Ganesan Fans Association president K.V. Bhuminathan has bought the rights of ‘Paasamalar’ featuring Nadigar Thilagam, Gemini Ganesan and Savithri.
The black and white film was released in 1961, that is 51 years ago. Even today the film is talked about. It was a brilliant portrayal of the love and affection between brother and sister (Sivaji and Savithri). Those who watched the film would say a brother and sister should emulate the ‘Paasamalar’ siblings. Kannadasan’s songs and Aarur Das’s dialogues in the film are memorable.
As ‘Karnan’, this 197-minute film will be renewed in digital format with advanced visual and sound effects and re-released.
Sivaji fans have made an appeal that the veteran actor’s other films like ‘Pudiya Paravai’, ‘Vasantha Maligai’ and ‘Deivamagan’ should also be resurrected and re-released..
