Sunaina, who had shown a lot of promise in her early films, was in a brief hiatus — only to return with a couple of good projects including Rasu Madhuravan’s Pandi Oliperukki Nilayam.
She acts opposite Sabarish of Markandeyen fame in this romantic comedy, which has Dindigul and Theni as its backdrop.
Rasu, who was hitherto focusing on family values, has gone in for a romantic tale laced with humour. Karunas appears in an important role and the National Award winner, Thambi Ramaiah, plays a vital character.
Music is by Kaviperiyathambi, and going by the songs released recently, it looks like Sunaina is taking the glam route once again. Ask the chirpy girl if she wants to be identified as a glam girl, and she shoots back.
“I have been balancing off-beat (Vamsam) and glamour roles in my career. I am from a theater background and like to act, emote and express. If there’s a real need for glamour in the script, then I have no issues. PON is no different. Rasu sir has given me an alluring role with a lot of scope for performance. Yes, I have worn some glam outfits for the song sequences, which were shot in Malaysia. After all, songs are part of fantasy in a film,” she quips.
