Vazhakku Enn 18/9 reunites a family

Look how cinema can inspire and make a difference in the life of atleast a few!

The path breaking Balaji Sakthivel’s Vazhakku Enn 18/9 produced by Lingusamy’s Thirupathi Brothers was a moving tale told in a realistic format. The film even went as a nomination to the Oscars, but looks like this is one award that the makers will be even more satisfied with.

Apparently, one of the characters in the film was reunited with his family after they spotted him in the movie. When the movie was telecast as a Vinayagar Chaturthi special, a Tiruppur family discovered that one of the heroine’s neighbours in the movie, was indeed their missing mentally challenged son who had gone missing six years ago.

Loganathan and Manjula, the parents rushed to Chennai and thanks to Balaji Sakthivel’s help met their son Anbu in a home for mentally challenged children. The officials in charge were convinced about his identity after adequate proof furnished by the parents.

Apparently he had gone missing after being separated from his family when they were on a city visit six years ago. The Child Welfare Committee ( CWC) found him on the roadside and put him up at the Government Balavihar home in Egmore.

Apparently, for director Balaji Sakthivel it was indeed like receiving an Oscar when the family was reunited.
