Director Venkat prabhu is a happy man. The hurdles that were in the way of releasing his latest directorial venture ‘Mankatha’ have finally cleared. The film would be released by Sun Pictures and not by Studio Green, as announced a couple of days ago. The film has a huge star cast including Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Kainaat Arora, Andrea Jermaiah and many others.
Union Minister Azhagiri reportedly impressed on his son Dayanidhi, the producer of ‘Mankatha’, to sell off the release and distribution rights to Sun Pictures, paving the way for the re-union of the production houses Sun Pictures and Dayanidhi’s Cloud Nine Movies.
It is said that ‘Mankatha’ would be releasing abroad first on 31st August. On the next day i.e. on 1st September, 2011, the film would be released all over Tamil Nadu and elsewhere. Meanwhile, Venkatprabhu has already planned as to what should be his next film. His next film as director has been titled ‘Neradi Oliparappu’. Prabhu is planning to make the film as a 3-dimensional one.
Venkat, though, didn’t reveal the name of the popular hero who has agreed to play the lead role in the film. Only after the release of ‘Mankatha’ will prabhu let us have the details like the producer and hero of the film. He, however, let out a minor secret when he revealed that the film would be produced at a budget of Rs.30 crores!
