Mantra, who started her career as a child artiste in Bollywood, Geraftaar and Aaj Ka Goonda Raj, went on to become a huge hit when she was launched as a heroine in K’town, cast with the likes of Ajith, Prabhu and Arun Vijay and posing a threat to then top actress, Khushboo. Mantra also made it big in T’town with 25 films to her credit. She bid adieu to acting after she married.
She was recently at AVM Studios, returning to the world of films after a gap of seven years. This time around it was for a reality TV show, Aayiratthil Oruvan, aired on a popular channel.
Actress Aparna Pillai, also the creative head of the studio, roped her in, Mantra says, “she was impressed by my presentation and approached me for AO.”
Was she also making a comeback with the Simbu film, Vaalu? She would not confirm this, the announcement should come from the producer, she said.
